The VOBG Story & Legacy Center™ exists to collect, preserve, honor, and elevate the lived experiences, wisdom, journeys, and cultural impact of Black grandmothers across generations.

Through storytelling, archiving, creative expression, and curated experiences, the Center ensures that the voices of Black grandmothers are remembered, celebrated, and passed down as part of our national legacy.  

 

A digital and future in-person museum preserving the lived experiences, photographs, stories, and contributions of Black grandmothers across generations.

At VOBG Cares, we are passionate about creating a positive impact in our communities and beyond.

 

Our mission is to empower Grandmothers Raising Grandchildren, of all ethnicity and backgrounds to reach their full potential. We believe that true empowerment comes from within and our initiatives are designed to help them unlock their inner strength.

 

Providing advocacy, kinship care support, education, and community resources for Black grandmothers raising families and holding communities together.

National Black Grandmothers Day

National Black Grandmothers Day is a day reserved to honor black grandmothers and pay tribute to the generations before them and those that will come after them during Black History Month.

 

Through this representation of Black Grandmothers, we aim to inspire and engage with our communities and experience the Voices of Black Grandmothers who are the thread of our culture.
